In Sri Lanka, the island’s oldest traditions are still practised daily by families, learned from the hearts and hands of grandparents rather than from books. Sit with a monk who teaches you to meditate the way people have done for hundreds of years, learn martial art moves that originated as a defence against colonial armies, or trace the story of a fort through someone whose family has lived inside its walls for generations.
Into the Wild
One of just 36 biodiversity hotspots on earth, the island’s ecosystems range from lush rainforests to coastal mangroves and an abundance of underwater life around its shores. Watch a guide spot a leopard from the twitch of an ear two hundred metres away, meet conservationists striving to ease conflict between elephants and the people who live alongside them, or set sail in search of whales accompanied by a marine biologist working to protect them.
A warm welcome at the table
Some of travel’s most memorable moments happen far from any landmark, where people connect in a way that can’t be contrived. Share a pot of tea and stories with a grandmother who has spent her whole life in hill country, or learn a family recipe in a humble village kitchen, lunch cooked over firewood and the table filling with whoever happens to be home.

The moments that truly stand out to our travellers are spent with people no guidebook or hotel concierge could find. Our experience hosts are not guides, and that’s the whole point. A grower reviving Sri Lankan coffee with the villages around him, the brew poured at his own table. An astronomer who travels to wherever guests are to show them the details of the night sky in a way few could ever know. Dinner with a former captain of the national cricket team. We open these doors because we know the people behind them.
Designed from scratch
We don’t believe in fixed routes or typical itineraries. Each journey is shaped around the people travelling it, the pace they prefer, the moments they will find the magic in. An early start to explore the citadel before the crowds, a slower pace for those who would rather linger, the room positioned for the sunrise, the long drive planned with care so time never feels wasted.
Looked after, start to finish
From the first planning conversation, to the moment they hop on their plane home, every detail is handled so your travellers never have to think about them. A train time shifts, a road closes, and it’s sorted before they notice. And across more than seventy hotels, travellers arrive to private tea tastings, room upgrades and other treats.
